Anesthesia–free teeth cleaning procedure takes about 25 – 40 minutes. It depends on the complexity and the amount of calculus and an animal’s behavior.

We gently lay your pet on the side on the table; whichever position is comfortable for the dog. We use special techniques and approaches to prevent them from struggling and hurting themselves. We perform overall oral cavity exam. As soon as we finished dental exam and decide that it is safe to proceed, we slowly and carefully begin to help the pet to relax and get used to the sounds and light. We start to use a sterile ultrasonic toothbrush removing from the anterior and posterior teeth. We carefully clean each tooth. Finally, we floss, wipe and rinse.

Yes, we sterilize all the tools before and after the procedure and use a serialized set of scalers for each dog!

Anesthesia–free teeth cleaning is necessary provide every 6-12 month. It depends on several factors, such as: diet, dog’s physiology, age, lifestyle, composition of saliva.

Yes, the procedure can be carried out for elderly dogs.

No, deep teeth cleaning is painless. The dog might resist the first few minutes of the procedure due to unfamiliarity or fear. As soon as the dog understands it does not hurt it calms down. We are trained to comfort the pet and make the entire procedure stress-free and fun.

No, we don’t give a dog any sedative medication or anything else. You can help the pet to be a little more relaxed by giving it a little amount of CBD/hemp oil before the visit (30 – 60 minute) but that up to you and not a requirement from our end.

The cleaning procedure itself is exactly the same. The only difference is that we we simply do not use anesthesia or anything else except of our skills.

We wish we could. But, Unfortunately, no. We can not provide the procedure to all our visitors as some of them might not pass the initial oral examination due to health issues or simply if the pet is too aggressive  to be approached without anesthesia.

Hollywoof smile provide professional teeth cleaning. We do not provide any treatment. If we detect any issues during teeth cleaning, we can advise you to contact your veterinarian.
